MYTH #3 You're not suppose to Baptize Babies

As a Child, Parents make decisions for you. The decide what you eat, where you live, what time you go to bed. God gave them the authority to make important decisions in your life and that includes baptism.
Baptizing Babies

Many Non-Catholics will swear it's not in the bible and no one ever baptized a baby in the bible. Well let's see what the bible does say......

While the bible doesnt come right out and say "I command thee to baptize babies" it does demonstrate that babies and children were and should be baptized.

Jesus said in Matthew 19:14 but Jesus said, "Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Well since the sacrament of Baptism is required by Jesus  to enter the kingdom of heaven (being born again) Catholics do not prevent children from coming to him, we baptize them.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, "Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit.

In many places in the bible entire families and house holds were baptized, no one was left out no matter the age.
1Corinthains 1:16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanus; besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.

Acts 16:15 After she and her household had been baptized, she offered us an invitation, "If you consider me a believer in the Lord, come and stay at my home," and she prevailed on us.
So, Catholics baptize babies and do not prevent Children from coming to Jesus. Maybe we should be asking Non-Catholics why they dont baptize babies?

Ok, so I am sure can can show the verses that specifically exclude babies from the families that were baptied?

And you can provide the specific scriptures stating the age at which one is to be baptized?

And from your statement all the little unbaptized Jehovahs Witness kids are heathens?

And for the record you can not say with any degree of certainty that Jesus never baptized anyone since in the book of John it is said thatall Jesus did could not be written down because the world couldnt hold them

For the Record the verse you refer to says Jesus "was" not baptizing as the Jews were accusing him of. "Was" is past tense, there verse in no way states Jesus never baptized anyone. So yes, you are speculating.

1,2,3,7) In Genesis 1:23 & Genesis 11:7 God refers to himself as "us", plural.

Commandment number 1 is to worship God.

4) Have no clue what you mean

5,6) No, they are all separate but are make up 1 God.

(NWT) Matthew 13:33 Another illustration he spoke to them: “The kingdom of the heavens is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three large measures of flour, until the whole mass was fermented.” 34 All these things Jesus spoke to the crowds by illustrations. Indeed, without an illustration he would not speak to them; 35 that there might be fulfilled what was spoken through the prophet who said: “I will open my mouth with illustrations, I will publish things hidden since the founding.”

1John 5:7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.

8) You must be baptized to be saved.

(NWT) Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit,

The names are stated singular but all 3 are invoked equally for salvation.

9) is answered in the above.

Catholics believe baptism is necessary for salvation.

VATICAN II declared this in #7 of it’s decree Ad Gentes:
“Therefore, all must be converted to Him, made known by the Church's preaching, and all must be incorporated into Him by baptism and into the Church which is His body. For Christ Himself "by stressing in express language the necessity of faith and baptism (cf. Mark 16:16; John 3:5), at the same time confirmed the necessity of the Church, into which men enter by baptism, as by a door. Therefore those men cannot be saved, who though aware that God, through Jesus Christ founded the Church as something necessary, still do not wish to enter into it, or to persevere in it." (Dogmatic constitution by Vatican II: Lumen Gentium 14) Therefore though God in ways known to Himself can lead those inculpably ignorant of the Gospel to find that faith without which it is impossible to please Him (Heb. 11:6), yet a necessity lies upon the Church (1 Cor. 9:16), and at the same time a sacred duty, to preach the Gospel. And hence missionary activity today as always retains its power and necessity.”
