This one truly puzzles me. Catholics are not only the 1st Christians but every Catholic is a born again Christian.
In accordance with scripture every Catholic has been baptized how Jesus and the Apostles instructed.

You now have a conflict, so then St. Paul is defying Jesus and Jesus defied himself?
1Corinthians 4:15 For if you were to have countless tutors in Christ, yet you would not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.
and Jesus defied his own words when he called Abraham "Father" Abraham in Luke 16:19-25
We Catholics call our Priests father because, as with St. Paul they have become our father through the Gospel.
